Home

Things I can be sure of when I'm at home:

I know I need to take ten steps and then turn right and take four more when going up the stairs.

I know the maximum size of an object that I can throw in the trash can without pulling it out from underneath the sink.

I know that when I plop myself down in the rocking chair of the family room I can extend my left hand just a bit and I'll find the remote.

I know exactly how fast I have to run if I want to unlock my door, put the key back, and close the door in the time it takes the garage to close.

Home is about more than just the house. It isn't even just about the memories.

It's also about the familiarity.
